With its sober facade of brick and granite, two rounded corner towers nevertheless give the château a fancy touch. A beautiful stately home built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Château Couterne covers twenty hectares. It is crossed by more than 3 km of wooded bridle paths ideal for walking or riding.

Take a guided tour of an exhibition of 250 historic and common-use objects, tracing the history of the house and the surrounding area, evoking the religious conflict between Catholics and Protestants, the Revolution and life in 19th century. Exhibition of very rare 18th century costumes.

Exhibition only. Accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Access to the Château grounds is free. Two possibilities: the grand tour (35 minutes) and the mini tour (20 minutes).

Opening times

You can take a walk in the park and a guided tour of the exhibition hall during the summer holidays, every day except Sundays, Mondays and public holidays.
